Complete the form below to sign up for a volunteer activity during Uni's Community Connections Day at Booker T. Washington STEM Academy on Monday, Apr. 14.

Please select your grade level ("Attendee Type") and then choose the activity you would like to volunteer for at Uni's Community Connections Day at Booker T. Washington STEM Academy on Monday, Apr. 14. You should sign up for ONE activity, and that activity will be repeated three times with each class in the assigned grade. In the registration information, you'll see listed the activity name, BTW grade level, activity organizer/leader (when available), and a brief description.

Kindergartners will conduct experiments to help them learn about the relationship between water and ice. Participants will also make and eat snow cones.
Join kindergartners and 1st graders in a water warm up game, water/density experiment, and some water relays.
Kindergartners and 1st graders will learn how water travels through trees with a "walking water" experiment and learn how colors separate by creating "chromatography flowers."
Work with 2nd and 3rd graders to use recycled materials to create instruments and learn how different rubber bands make different pitches.
Teach 2nd and 3rd graders about gardening as they decorate pots and plant vegetable and flower seeds.
Support 2nd and 3rd graders as they work in teams to design a snowflake showing radial symmetry.
Help 2nd and 3rd graders learn about the water cycle through a cloud-in-a-jar activity.
Join 4th and 5th graders in talking about the role of parks in our community and working together to clean up litter in Douglass Park. Teams will compete to see who can pick up the most litter.
Join 4th and 5th graders in this civics-focused, interactive activity that asks students to "take a stand" and express agreement or disagreement on environment-related issues.
Create bubble art cards with 4th and 5th graders to learn about water solubility and why things dissolve in water.
Help 4th and 5th graders design and test marshmallow catapaults using different recycled materials.
